Emma Thompson
I know Emma Thompson is not everyone's cup of tea.
She grows older with grace. But I have always liked her. She's very smart.
So for my own fun, I submit a little film encapsulation:
What I like about English girls and accents, are their accents.
And the way they move to make you feel far from home.
I love them.
The glint of verbs and nouns, the uplifting turn of phrase, enjoyable to all of us under the sun.
Visit The Emma Thompson Sanctuary.
Problem with re-living 19th century, is the fact that they had no Macs.
Here is the sweet scene on YouTube:
Comments
I must say, as much as I enjoyed this film, Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson just don't seem to go together. Kate and Hugh make a much better pairing - and Emma and Alan. Although maybe that's just seeing how well (or otherwise) they were as a couple in Love Actually.... and I love Alan Rickman. Seriously. I love him. It's his voice....

I like Alan Rickman as well. First, the bad guy in "Diehard." Then, the good guy in "Sense and Sensibility." However, pining over the young girl who can never truly love you. Pure fiction and would never happen in real life...
